Chiara Alessi is a design curator and critic. Over the last years, she's been focusing on the design culture in Italy, on its potential and impact.
Her essay “Dopo gli anni Zero. Il nuovo design italiano,”(Ed. Laterza, 2014) attempts an overview of the national creative panorama while "Design without designer" (Ed Laterza, 2016) inquires into the "side professions" of Italian design. In 2018 she published with UTET "The coffee-makers of my great-grandparents. The end of the icons in Italian design".
She lectures in some of the major Italian schools and Universities and teaches at the Polytechnic University of Milan.
Among the exhibitions curated, the contemporary section of the XI edition of the Triennale Design Museum.
